KEYENCE and Cognex barcode reader configuration and PLC or PC integration for identification and machine data exchange in Ontario.
Discuss this applicationTHE APPLICATION
KEYENCE & Cognex barcode reader integration
SQR Power Automation integrates KEYENCE and Cognex barcode readers into machine sequences and application workflows, including applications using Cognex DataMan readers. The scope connects the read trigger, decoded data and read status with the PLC or PC application so the machine can act on the result.
What we can deliver
- Reader setup around the code, part presentation and process
- Trigger, read-complete and no-read handling
- Decoded data exchange with PLCs and PC applications
- Expected-code checks and operator diagnostics where required
- Communication checks and commissioning with representative parts
HOW IT COMES TOGETHER
Read. Exchange. Act.
Read the code
Set up the trigger and reading conditions around representative parts and code samples.
Exchange the result
Map decoded data and reader status to the PLC or PC interface.
Handle the exceptions
Define the sequence for unreadable, missing or unexpected codes and communication faults.
PLATFORMS & SCOPE
Built around
your equipment.
KEYENCE barcode readers and Cognex DataMan readers are scoped by model and supported interface. Code format, marking quality, working distance and part movement determine the setup. We review the supported communication interface, timing and data format, and establish what the machine should do when a code is missing, unexpected or unreadable. Integration is scoped to the selected reader and application.
BEFORE WE START
Can barcode data be used by a custom PC application?
Yes. A supported device interface, driver or gateway can exchange code data with the application. We define the required workflow and how results, communication errors and unreadable codes are handled.
Do you support projects across Ontario?
Yes. SQR is based in Waterloo and supports projects across Ontario. Site requirements, travel and the delivery schedule are agreed for each engagement.
